KPIN · TERMS

Terms of service

These terms apply to the KPin website and mobile app. By using KPin you accept them. If you do not accept them, please stop using the service.

The Korean version is the original. This English text is a translation; if the two differ, the Korean version governs.

1. Who provides KPin

KPin is operated by a sole proprietorship registered in the Republic of Korea. The registered business name, registration number and representative are published in the app store listing and are available on request through the contact in section 10.

2. What the service does

You submit a public YouTube video, Instagram card post or Reel, or TikTok post link. KPin reads the public information attached to that link, identifies the Korean places it refers to, verifies each place against a map provider, and returns place cards with multilingual names, an address and map links. The service is aimed at visitors to Korea and currently focuses on Seoul.

3. Accuracy and what KPin does not promise

  • Place identification is automated. A result can be wrong or incomplete. When it is not certain, the result stays marked as needing review instead of guessing. Check the linked map page before you travel.
  • Opening hours, seating, stock, reservations, wait time and crowding are not live. A video's old claim is never shown as a current condition, and current crowding is not displayed at all.
  • Menu names and prices appear only when the source content supports them. They are not a current menu and are not a price offer.
  • A place may have closed, moved or been renamed after the source content was published or after KPin last checked it.
  • A provider outage may reduce the detail in a result. KPin omits a field it cannot verify rather than guessing.

4. Acceptable use

  • Submit only links to content that is publicly available.
  • Do not submit private, login-only or otherwise restricted content, and do not submit personal information about other people.
  • Do not use automated bulk requests, attempt to bypass rate limits or cost controls, or interfere with the service or its providers.
  • Do not resell, scrape or redistribute KPin results as your own dataset.
  • Do not use KPin for anything unlawful.

5. Third-party content and platforms

Source videos, posts, captions and images belong to the people and platforms that published them. KPin does not ask you to upload a video file, and does not store or redistribute source videos or Instagram card images. Embedded source content is played through the original platform under that platform's own terms. Place data and map links come from map providers whose attribution and terms apply to their results. Processing a YouTube link is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google Places results are subject to the Google Maps Platform Terms.

6. Optional account

You can analyze links and keep recent history on your device without registering. Signing in with ChatGPT is optional and enables synced recent history, a saved travel list of up to 100 places, and free in-app personal picks. Personal picks are a preference inside the app: they start no payment and send no email, text message, push or other outbound notification. You may sign out or delete your saved data at any time. KPin may restrict access that breaks these terms or endangers the service.

7. Cost and availability

  • You receive 10 starter credits once. They do not refill each day.
  • The fixed charge for each content type and video length is shown before analysis. Reopening a saved result costs 0 credits.
  • In the mobile app, a verified rewarded ad can add the credits needed for the current analysis once per Korea calendar day.
  • At the Korean store price, the Travel Pack costs KRW 4,900 and provides 60 credits valid for 30 days from purchase. Ads are hidden while the pack is active.
  • Another purchase adds 60 credits and extends validity by 30 days from the later of the existing expiry or purchase date. Expired credits cannot be used.
  • Payment, withdrawal and refund handling follow the policies of the Apple App Store or Google Play where you bought it, together with mandatory Korean law.
  • If a technical error prevents completion, the credits charged for that analysis are restored to their original bucket.

The service is offered as it is, may change or be interrupted, and features may be added or removed. Any changed price or condition is shown in the app and store before you pay.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, KPin is not liable for a wasted trip, a closed venue, an outdated price, a third-party platform outage, or any other loss arising from relying on an automated result without checking the linked map or source. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory Korean consumer law.

9. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the service changes. A change is announced on this page at least 7 days before it takes effect, or 30 days before when it materially affects your rights. The date below shows the current version. Continuing to use KPin after an update means you accept the updated terms.

10. Contact

Questions about these terms: support@kpin.place. See the privacy policy for how information is used, retained and deleted.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. If a dispute cannot be resolved through the contact in section 10, it is subject to the courts having jurisdiction under Korean law.
